Although the researches about Kemer, tells us no more than it has been a Lycian city, the information from the local people differs as ; the old name of the district was " Old Village ", there was a float at year of 1910, than a lake formed near to the village, which becomes a marsh later. Afterwards, people here, construct a wall about 23 km.s made of stone, during 1910-1917 in order to protect the village from floats, so the later people called here VILLAGE ARCH (Kemer) because this wall represents an arch. Again during the mentioned period, there had been an epidemic disease called " Spanish ", cause people migrate from the area. The population of Kemer increased with the nomads from the mountains and the foreigners from the neighborhood.
