Eranthis hyemalis is the plant that grows in nature in open spaces in the Taurus Mountains, in Maras and Erzincan at the heights of 1300-1800 meters. (Some scientists agree that Eranthis, which grow in the Taurus Mountains, is a different kind. This is called Eranthis cilicicus). The flowers of this plant, which start to blossom at the end of January and finish at the end of March, are gold yellow and erect. The plant which can be 10-15 centimetres tall can resist cold. When planted it can reproduce easily in situ.
