1st day: Antalya
Arrival to Antalya and welcome by aQuasun guide. Arrival day there isn’t any programme, only information about the journey and having rest. Dinner and overnight in Antalya.
2nd day: Antalya – Kuşadası
After the breakfast we will drive over the Taurus Mountains through an impressive landscape to Ephesus. The highlight of the journey is the visiting to the Celsus library, the Theatre, the Agora, the Odeon, the Temple of Hadrian, the harbour road with the columns will notice the changeful history of this town. During this visit you will feel yourself living in thousands of years ago. Dinner and overnight in Kuşadası. Daily km: +/- 410 km
3rd day: Kuşadası – Bergama – Çanakkale
In the morning we will drive over Izmir to Bergama. At the hills of Acropolis, you will see the ground walls of the Zeus Temple, which you can still admire at the Pergamum Museum in Berlin. The library which was rebuilt by the German archaeology Institute and had stocked over 200.000 books is located at the temple of Trojan. The library and the steepest Greek theatre of Anatolia are typical relicts of Bergama. Afterwards you will drive along the coast through a lovely landscape to Troja. The legendary Troja was unearthed by Heinrich Schliemann. The archaeological excavation has exposure residential areas of this town and the oldest one is from the time 3500 before Christian. Then we will drive to Çanakkale. Dinner and overnight in Çanakkale. Daily km: +/- 405 km
4th day: Çanakkale – Istanbul
After the breakfast you will cross the famous Dardanellesby car-ferry and will arrive on European ground. Along the Marmara Sea over Tekirdağ we will drive to Istanbul, the city between two continents. We will visit the Topkapı Palace, which was the domicile and administrative centre of the Ottoman monarchs. Many buildings and treasures will show you the gaudiness and highlight of Ottoman culture. At noontime we will make a small break at the Egyptian Bazaar (spices bazaar). In the afternoon we will visit the Hippodrome and Blue Mosque which is located at the historical peninsula between Golden Horn and Marmara Sea. The Blue Mosque with the six minarets coins for hundreds of years the silhouette of Istanbul. The mostly handmade tiles which graces the inside walls of these mosque are a masterwork of Iznik clones. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul. Daily km: +/- 290 km
5th day: Istanbul – Bursa
In the morning we will visit the Hagia Sophia. The Hagia Sophia has attended two world religions, first the Greek orthodox and then the Islamic religion. In the afternoon it’s possible to make a facultative Bosporus trip. Afterwards we will drive through Yalova to Bursa. Bursa was the first capital of Ottoman Empire. Visit to the Big Mosque which is one of the most beautiful mosques in Anatolia. The carved marmoreal portal is a significant structure of Ottoman style. The green mausoleum is directly across from the green mosque. The wonderful garden and the turquoise tile siding are really depicting on exciting picture. Dinner and overnight in Bursa. 6th day: Bursa – Pamukkale
After breakfast we will drive over Kütahya to Pamukkale. The snow-white lime deposit was build by calcareous thermal springs over millennia. Afterwards we will visit the antique town Hierapolis which was built in the second century before Christian and is located above the hillside. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale or Denizli. Daily km: +/- 410 km.
7th day: Pamukkale – Antalya
Today we will drive to Tavas, where you can visit a century old Carpet knitting school. Afterwards we will drive through the Taurus range along the second deepest lake in Turkey, the salty sea to Antalya. Close to Antalya we will make a small tea break in original migrant tent. Dinner and overnight in Antalya. Daily km: +/- 280 km.
8th day:
Transfer to Antalya airport or hotel. |
